Why choose a Savoy virtual phone number?
Part of the Champaign-Urbana orbit
Savoy sits just south of Champaign and Urbana, and most people here shop, work, and date across all three towns. A 217 number reads as home turf no matter which side of the line you're on.
Urbana is next door, not across the state
If you're commuting to Urbana for work or school, or just meeting people from there, having a 217 number means you're not the odd one out with an unfamiliar area code.
Springfield calls this code home too
217 is also carried by many people in Springfield, so a Savoy number doesn't stick out as foreign once you're dealing with anyone elsewhere in central Illinois.
One code, less friction with strangers
When you're selling something locally or meeting someone new, an out-of-area code makes people pause before they answer. A 217 number skips that hesitation.
Fewer unknown numbers cluttering your main line
As in many parts of the state, people here get tired of unrecognized callers lighting up their phone. A second Ghost number lets you hand it out freely and keep your personal line for people you actually know.

The 217 area code covers Savoy along with neighboring Champaign and Urbana, and it's also carried by many residents in Springfield. That means a Savoy number and a Springfield number can share the same code without being the same place.
Savoy runs on Central Time, same as the rest of the 217 region. There's no overlay code here, so 217 alone covers this whole stretch of central Illinois.
As in many parts of the state, residents here report getting more unwanted calls than they'd like, mostly from telemarketers and numbers they don't recognize. A second number lets you keep your main line off those lists while still answering calls from people you know.
