Why choose a Newton virtual phone number?
One number for Newton and the Cambridge-Somerville corridor
Newton sits at the edge of the corridor Cambridge and Somerville form with Boston, and all three carry the 617, 857, 339 and 781 codes. A Ghost number in one of these looks at home whether you're texting a landlord in Newton or meeting someone in Somerville.
A second line for trips toward Framingham
Plenty of Newton residents head west to Framingham for shopping or work, where 508 and 774 are common. Carrying a number in one of those codes keeps errands out that way from mixing with your Newton line.
Quincy, Lynn and Brockton carry the same codes
617, 857, 339 and 781 aren't unique to Newton. Quincy, Lynn and Brockton carry them too, so a Ghost number in any of these codes reads as local across the whole metro, not just one town.
617 still says Boston
If you want a number that reads as the city rather than one specific suburb, 617 is the code most people recognize first. It's useful for anyone splitting time between Newton and downtown Boston.
What Newton residents are flagging to the FTC
Recent FTC reports from the area put debt relief offers and callers impersonating government agencies or family members at the top of the unwanted-call list. A second Ghost number for online listings or dating profiles keeps that traffic off your personal line.
