Why choose a Godfrey virtual phone number?
A 618 number for the river bend
618 covers Godfrey and is also carried by many residents in Belleville, further south along the same side of the metro. A Godfrey number won't look unfamiliar to people across that part of southern Illinois.
Godfrey sits at the edge of the St. Louis metro
St. Louis, Missouri is the largest city near Godfrey, and plenty of residents cross the river for work or errands. Keeping a 618 number for personal calls means texts you send from the Missouri side still look familiar to people back home.
Edwardsville is close enough to share plans, not a number
Edwardsville, IL sits just southeast of Godfrey, and a lot of people split time between the two. A second Ghost number lets you hand out a personal line for Edwardsville friends or local sales without mixing it into your main phone.
Granite City, same stretch of river
Granite City, IL is another close neighbor along this part of the Mississippi. If you're meeting someone from a marketplace listing or an app there, a 618 number signals you're from the area instead of an unknown out-of-state contact.
Keeping spam off your main line
Like much of southwestern Illinois and the greater St. Louis area, people here deal with a steady run of robocalls and unknown numbers. Handing out a second Ghost number for listings, dating apps, or new contacts keeps that traffic off your everyday phone.

Godfrey uses the 618 area code, the same code carried by many residents in Belleville to the south. Nearby communities like Edwardsville and Granite City sit in this same stretch of southern Illinois, while neighbors just across the Mississippi in St. Louis, St. Charles, St. Peters, Florissant, University City, and Maryland Heights use Missouri numbers instead.
Godfrey runs on Central Time, the same zone as St. Louis and the rest of the metro east area. This part of Illinois sticks to one code, 618, so there's no overlay to keep straight, just a single set of digits across the whole river bend region.
People in this part of southern Illinois report the same pattern seen across the wider St. Louis area: a steady flow of unwanted robocalls and unfamiliar numbers landing on personal phones. That's part of why many keep a separate number for anything public, like a listing, a dating profile, or a new contact.
