Why choose a Cohoes virtual phone number?
Albany right next door
Cohoes sits at the edge of the Albany metro, and a 518 number reads local whether you're calling someone in Cohoes or across the river in Albany.
Troy across the Hudson
Troy is close by, and many people there carry the same 518 area code you'd get with a Cohoes number, so your calls and texts look familiar rather than out of state.
Schenectady connections
Schenectady shares the 518 code too, which matters if you're applying for work or meeting people there and want your number to match the area they know.
Saratoga Springs reach
Saratoga Springs is close enough for regular trips, and it's carried by many of the same 518 numbers, so a Cohoes-based Ghost number fits there without looking out of place.
Rotterdam and Niskayuna ties
Rotterdam and Niskayuna round out the towns near Cohoes that share the 518 code, useful if your contacts, landlords, or clients live anywhere in that stretch.

Population

The 518 area code covers Cohoes and is carried by many people in Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Rotterdam, and Niskayuna, so a Cohoes-based number fits naturally across that whole stretch of the Capital Region.
Cohoes runs on Eastern time, and the surrounding Capital Region shares a single overlay of the 518 code rather than splitting it by town, so the same number reads local from Cohoes out to Saratoga Springs.
Cohoes is home to 18,530 people and sits at the falls of the Mohawk River, a compact city tucked into the much larger population base of the Albany, Schenectady, and Troy area.
